Through the keyhole...

Posted by Cheryl at 17:29
Remember that show from the 90's? I always remember my mum watching it on BBC1 and I always loved looking into people's houses-what a great way to be nosey! I have done some great de-cluttering the past days and it feels so good to be clear of some stuff (although it will probably just be replaced by more stuff!).

This week is already going too quickly for me-yesterday was a beautiful day consisting of a yummy afternoon tea with Michael and a trip to the park. We had some cakes and scones and walked it off afterwards, all with the sun shining on us! It was a lovely day. Today I went to some charity shops to give them some old books and nick nacks and tonight I am going to do some even more sorting! I came home to the some good news-I got another A on my course so that is 6 in a row now-I am not used to being a straight A student so it feels nice ;) only one more essay to go and I will be finished then I can really get cracking with my book.

Anyway back to my original blog title-I thought I would share with the blogger world some bits and pieces in my (well I have shared it with Michael for a long time now) room which I love. We are lucky to have a big enough bedroom so that Michael can have his 'games area' complete with a rather unslightly games chair and I can have all my girly things out too.

Notice board

I think a notice board is vital in a girlie bedroom-I use for it for lots of different pieces-old photos, theatre tickets, leaflets and the great thing is that you can always add things and take it away-I just love it.

Bedside table

I love my bedside table-it is actually Michael's table but I have claimed it as my own considering I have so much stuff! I order my pink vintage style radio and my art deco jewellery box filled with some lovely gems. It is also nice to keep some flowers close-these are from the nursery and they smell lush.

Wardrobe

I used to have two wardrobes before Michael moved in and I have somehow managed to move everything into one (surely men don't need a wardrobe all to themselves though?!) and I have managed to de clutter it over the months-I have to swap my winter and summer clothes around every year and store them in boxes-that is the downside of spending far too much money on clothes! I am not really a shoe lover so I don't have to worry about storage space for that-for me it is all about the dresses!

 Charity shop finds

I have also found some lovely items for the bedroom in charity shops over the years-I love anything vintage and/or a bit quirky. I got a funky 50's diner clock in a charity shop for only 2 quid and it works! It looks fab on the wall and I love bargains like that. I also have my favouite item-my flower mirror-which is quite 60's and I got for a few pounds in a charity shop many years ago, I have to admit I don't use it as a mirror much-I just like it for display!

So there you go! Tomorrow Michael and I are going for a Pizza Express (pesto pizza ftw!) and to see Hunger Games at the cinema. I have to admit, I have never read the books but I am intrigued by the premise and it has some great reviews (maybe I will post one of my own sometime soon!). I am planning to do some more posts about my anxiety and also coping with IBS this week so keep your eyes peeeeeeeeled.

XOXO
